This Creativity Post continues my theme of finding a completely random pic and trying to make it into a fully normal sounding idea for a TMS story.
I did that with CP 59 with the chocolate cake and CP 69 with the mannequin.
This one is pasta from scratch.
Instead of being a single person or having it be some twist on food (poison pasta) I’m leaning toward this involving a group of people. Most likely a crime family and they’re making dinner together in the kitchen of their big fancy house.
I could take this in two different ways with the first option being using a brand-new set of characters and the scene starts out as a normal nice family scene with everyone home together including the parents and college age kids all in the kitchen. It wouldn’t be until a few pages in that readers than realize this family isn’t normal after all.
The other option is to use a group of characters I already have and it’s showing them in a new light not seen before (at home).
I have a few crime families already established in The Merc Series that this could work for. But I’m leaning toward making a new group and this scene would be the kickoff to the story/plot.
I like the idea of starting with a normal looking family then it slowly turning into this people are criminals.
But family is important to them and things like honor and keeping your word on a promise or deal.
I don’t think I’d go right for an Italian background, but I wouldn’t avoid it either. Just depends on how I want to go about it.
Depending on what the plot/story is, I could see it being a novella or even a novel length project, which isn’t bad for just working off a pic of a plate of pasta.
