This Creativity Post is an interesting one for me as it’s not something I would usually write in my style and I think it would be fun to try.
The idea isn’t anything new, it’s just one I haven’t tried to write before.
The story would take place mid-September or just after it turned fall. Still nice out but making a fire would be fine for the evening, nighttime.
It would start off as a normal opening with a young couple going on a romantic getaway and the first day (Friday) is them checking the place out and unloading things etc. This would be long enough to be interesting and establishing the characters but not as long as I would make it if these were some of my normal main characters in The Merc Series.
The twist would come on the next day (Saturday) and it turns out the girl is really a serial killer.
She’s a well-known social media influencer and posts lots of day in life type stuff.
She’s taking lots of pics and posting stuff during their trip, but it goes to a fake account that doesn’t actually post it live.
She goes back later to curate her stories/feed. She always keeps the guys hidden or edited out because they always end up vanishing after spending a weekend with her. This would get cleaned up/explained better so she’s not immediately a suspect.
She always has a perfect alibi, or she selects guys that no one would miss.
I feel like this trip will be different and maybe this guy knows what she really does and he planned all this to get close to her.
Or he’s not her usual type and he has people that would worry about him or he’s kind of important himself and she’s testing herself to try and get away with it. Like she needs a bigger thrill now.
The other thing I’ll need to do is figure out how to tie this better into The Merc Series universe, but I see myself writing this idea sooner vs later.
