CREATIVITY POST 86

This Creativity Post is more of a character idea as opposed to a story/plot idea.

My initial thought was he was just a businessman but then I thought how could I make that more interesting?

So, that led to him becoming a spy pretending to be a businessman but not CIA.

I have a bunch of characters that already work for the ‘agency’ and I think having him work for a different intelligence group would help him stand out more as a character.

I’m leaning towards the military, Pentagon, DIA, but I also think having him work for a secret private intelligence company could make for a more interesting character.

His ‘cover job’ also has him working for a weapons company so that could make for good angles/threads to pull from for stories.

His standout trait/quirk would be his constant need to check the time on his watch. He’s less a watch guy and more OCD and has to always know what time it is or has to make sure he’s always on time. And hates when people are late themselves.

He’s also a suit guy. Always dressed up in public no what matter he’s doing. This makes him someone who can’t blend into the background. He’s not that kind of spy.

His suits are also Kevlar lined (ala Wick style) which means he not opposed to getting his hands dirty either. He’s solid in close quarter battle and okay in hand to hand. He’s not bad by any means but he wouldn’t be top 20 or even top 30 of fighters in TMS Universe, but he can hold his own.

He’s more a numbers and big picture guy and would rather arrange for things to happen and avoid getting involved if given the choice.

Now the next thing I would need to do is find/create a good story/plot to put him into. Depending on who he ends up working for, both real and cover job, will also help determine if he’s a big player in The Merc Series Universe or mid to low tier.

I’m leaning toward mid-tier as of now but that could change come writing time.
