When I first picked these pics for a Creativity Post idea, I hadn’t planned to tie them into CP 81 and figured they’d two separate ideas. But then I got an idea on how to make them work together.
I’ve two separate ideas, train of thoughts for how to make it work.
The first idea is these guys are all that’s left of the merc team and truck from CP 81 and are now on foot trying to escape from the drone(s).
I think that could work fine but my second idea is that these guys are a separate group from the others. They either started with them and took off to track down the drone operator or are trying to regroup with the truck team to figure out their next course of action.
I feel like the second idea gives me more options (and characters) to work with and more likely the route I take.
The person controlling the drones will be a mercenary as well but someone who has personal grudge against the employer of this merc team.
This mission/job is more payback/revenge for the drone operator and less about saving the town. That was just an angle he used to get ‘hired’ by the town people.
This will need more fleshing out to make sense but it’s not bad for a first pass idea.
Combining both CP 81 and 82 together will probably make it a novella type story as I see enough material to be longer than a short story but probably not enough for a full novel length idea.
