This Creativity Post will be a lock for a creepy, unsettling type of story.
I don’t see it being a long story if the focus is only on the scarecrow but if I tie it into another idea that could help it.
The wild open space and trees in the background (pic 1) made me think that this place is somewhere remote and faraway from a city or even a town.
The lack of crops also suggests someone put this here just because which would further make things creepier.
I could see this pairing well with CP#67 and may go that route but I also like the idea of a couple or group of friends wandering around and looking for help and coming out of the woods from an accident of some kind and then they just see this creepy ass scarecrow in the middle of a field in the middle of nowhere with no rhyme or reason to it.
They can’t go back the way they came they have to go forward.
And pass this thing.
The gray sky also suggests it’s almost nighttime which would make things even more unsettling as they move through this field.
I think this idea could be one of those stories I do where there’s no solid answer as to why this scarecrow is here and the mystery remains unsolved and only serves to mess with the characters in the story more.
If I don’t pair this with CP 67 idea and instead make this a separate story, I would be sure to use different elements than I did from CP 67 one would feature a couple, one would feature a group of people or friends, one would involve a car accident one wouldn’t. This would make them stand apart better. Most likely the scarecrow idea would be a couple hiking in the woods together who got lost or had to avoid something and that’s why they can’t just go back the way they came.
Again, similar ideas but two very different stories.
