CREATIVITY POST 73

This CP is Part 2 of 2 and continues on the idea from CP 72.

Again, this idea plays heavily into the established cliché of the college age daughter of a rich family who hires her a much older bodyguard to watch over her.

While this idea will have my usual banter and humor style in the story, it won’t be a comedy/humorous type story. This isn’t one of those different worlds collide with the super serious bodyguard and funny college girls going ‘omg he’s so cringe’.

To play against type for this idea too, I would even have the college girl (1st pic) be nice and appreciate of the bodyguard and him being there to watch over her.

She’s spending the summer somewhere away from home, in a new property owned by her family. It’s somewhere warm and on a beach. It’s a bit upscale but not in a big city or crowed area. No Miami type locations.

Her friends with be with her most of the summer too (2nd pic) but will come and go throughout the story. All three girls are from rich/wealthy families but they’re not snobby rich. They’re used to the good life as that’s all they’ve known. If anything, they’re more on the naïve side of things verse the petty, talking down to people.

They’re used to having someone prepare their meals, fill their drinks for them. It’s the, ‘can’t relate’ vibe but not in an intentional way. At least that’s how I’ll try to make it come across.

There won’t be any romantic angles here either. No young girl falls for older protector or vice versa. That could work for certain ideas but not for the direction I want to take this one in.

The main thing to figure out is why she needs a bodyguard in the first place. Who’s after her or her family? And what threats is her bodyguard protecting her from? I don’t think his problems from his life would show up here either. It would be whatever her or her family is dealing with only.

This would be a full summer novel going from start of summer to early September/Labor Day. I like writing stories in that time period and could see this idea being one I would write sooner than other ideas.
