This CP was a bit more challenging as the first pic gave me my character idea right away but none of the other pics in this set had a lot to work with to build upon my idea until the second pic, which then helped to define the character more.
I’m going with a European setting again (thinking France because that’s my initial vibe IDK why) and he’s a secret black-market fencer. Maybe he’s a teacher or professor for his day job/cover job.
He’s smart too. Like an expert on a certain topic or subject of history or region/warfare. Something specific that will tie in and make sense.
He’s also well-liked and always cheerful (the 2nd pic) and he knows all those in his neighborhood and area where he walks daily. Instead of fear like a lot of guys in his line of work use, he’s a charmer and all-around good guy, despite his illegal business of course.
His clients are always happy with his results, and no one screws him over because they know he has their best interest. He takes less on commissions too so people moving things through him get more money which in turn gets him more business. He’s developed a robust and effective system for moving goods and finding buyers, so he doesn’t have to get bogged down in work.
He’s also got enough connections and favors to call in that anyone who tried to screw him over would regret it immediately. Everyone wants him in the fencing business too for their own use/ends. So, if someone did try to make a move against him, others would see it as a provocation against their interests too.
The CIA learned this lesson the hard way when a rogue field commander and a team of CIA trained assassins tried to strongarm him and force him to do something he didn’t want to.
It didn’t end well for the CIA. That would make for a good flashback story that gets woven into his featured story, whatever that may be. But I think this character has a lot of potential.
