CREATIVITY POST 168

This is Part 3 of a 4 Part brainstorming process that will cover an entire novel idea that’s set during December.

Thus far I’ve covered characters (166) and the setting (167) and at this point I’m probably at the halfway point of the novel depending on how deep I delve into both of those. Even though this is a 4 Part idea, I don’t see each part taking up 25% respectfully. Those numbers can and should shift, I think.

But at this point in the novel, a huge snowstorm/blizzard hits the character’s location. The snowstorm would have been mentioned here and there during the first half of the story but was either dismissed as not happening or their trip would be over, and they gone before the storm hits.

Either way they were aware of the storm coming but I wouldn’t make it seem threatening or something anyone was worried about.

Until it hits and it’s worse than expected. Which is cliché sure but will hopefully come across as a natural progression for the story. The storm will also serve another purpose in the story as it will mark a before/after in tone to the novel.

Before the storm, its warm, happy holidays, tis the season vibes. Then when it hits its now cold, mysterious, something is wrong vibes.

The women will get trapped because of the storm but still trying to make the best of the situation, almost a continuation of Part 2 fun but as the storm grows stronger and shows no signs of slowing down, secrets will start to become uncovered and lies revealed within in the group of women.

That will mark the end of the original Christmas tone and shift the story into its final arc.
