CREATIVITY POST 78

This Creativity Post is one of my favorites of this Summer’25 bunch as I can see a lot of potential for it as a story.

The initial premise is a group of soldiers are training and find some ruins/rundown buildings and as they explore them, they run afoul of another group or maybe a single individual, who is a lot more dangerous than them. They must now fight them (or him) off and hopefully escape.

There’s a lot of variables I could make with this too that will change the story and how it sounds/plays out.

I think the setting would be in America but that doesn’t have to be a sure thing. I do like the idea of them being foreign troops visiting here for a training exercise instead of American soldiers. As the main idea is for them to be completely inexperience despite having excellent gear and weapons. All of which have live ammo. No training guns here.

Whoever the team (or guy) hunting them is, and why, would affect the overall plot and story, as there would be a legit reason for the fighting, not a chance encounter.

Unless that ends up making more sense for the story.

Another option could be these soldiers are actually bad and are running from a ‘good guy’ and are all freaking out now and holding up in the ruins.

Maybe they lost their leader and that’s why things went downhill so fast for them, even if they are experienced in this case.

This story would be a mix of straight up action, followed by periods of suspense/tension as members get picked off, eliminated one by one the longer the day goes on.

These four guys (in the pics) would be the main characters POV but their original team would number between 12 and 16 depending on how I want to portray them.

This story would definitely have a high body count.
