Doing something a little different for tonight’s post. So far most of these posts have all been for new characters or new ideas. But that doesn’t mean everything always have to be for something new. Sometimes you come across pics/ideas that can reinforce ideas you already have. Which is what tonight’s post does. It’s a spotlight piece on Bobbi Jordan.
Usually if I’m saving a pic then it means something jumped right out at me or was interesting enough for me to start thinking on how could I use that. My default mode is, can I use this to make a new character, but this pic didn’t. Instead it got me thinking, that’s so something Bobbi would wear.
Now if you’ve been following along on all jokes around here, (The Merc Series FB) then you know Bobbi can be a #HotMess on a good day. ? But less one forgets, she’s also a very talented badass.
Before she met Nick and everyone else on Red Diamond, Bobbi was a freelance hit woman. Her father, Frank Jordan, was one of the best hit man on the East Coast and he taught his daughter a lot of what she knows. And it’s been hinted at that her father worked for The Quinn Crime Family in Boston and helped Tony Walker on his mission to take them down.
Bobbi’s specialty is handguns and she’s the only member on the team that can dual wield guns effectively. It’s a skill that’s rarely done properly, and something that her father specialized in. Wade, then Nick, could come close but Bobbi has greater skill and accuracy than both of them.
She’s also deadly with her kicks having learned from an as yet unrevealed kickboxer, which suggests she learned guns from her father and hand to hand combat from someone else. Bobbi routinely trains with Carol, who is a world karate champion, and former US Army karate instructor, and holds her own most of time. Most people don’t realize Carol is also a former CIA trained assassin, so it’s easy to think of Bobbi as the lesser fighter on the team when compared to her fellow teammates but against most of her opponents, she’s an asskicker few can match up against.
At some point though Bobbi has let her training and skill lapse and has focused too much on partying and flirting with some guys and many girls. ? As such she’s not sent on many assignments with Red Diamond.
There’s a reason for all of this and her actions, which will be explored/revealed in upcoming novels and stories as well as some of her old jobs before Red Diamond.
