I haven’t gone into a lot of detail about the training course at The Walker Compound, (it does get some love in Book 2 of The Merc Series) but this is along the lines of how I’m envisioning it.

The compound is already out in the middle of nowhere between two Maine towns and the training course is on several aches of Maine woods.

Nick’s dad first designed it, so some trails and paths are a couple decades old now. Nick had new ones put in with help from Megan and Clarissa.

It’s quiet out there. It makes you feel like you’re out in the middle of nowhere even though there’s a slew of businesses less than fifteen minutes away. Megan likes to wander the trails when she needs to think. Nick enjoys running them, usually alone or with Carol. During those times there’s a certain level of serenity that washes over them.

But when the course is activated the whole mood changes. Designed with multiple difficulty levels, the training course is not to be taking lightly as it’s deadly enough to kill if it comes to that. Several members of Red Diamond have been injured and required medical attention because of it.

Using a mix of old fashion booby traps designed by Nick from his years training in Japan and more state of the art stuff made by Megan and Clarissa, the course keeps Red Diamond in top form when not out on missions. There’s even been a few times when Nick has trained other operatives on the training course once given Megan’s permission. Needless to say, the participants left impressed.

More details on the training course will be revealed in future stories. ?
